The company has been providing its customers with a quality gardening service for 43 years.
We were established in 1969 by Colin W. F. Ridgewell who, after 20 years experience of organic farming and estate management, decided to offer his wealth of rural knowledge to the marketplace.
Joined by his sons Robert and Duncan in 1973 and 1980 respectively, the company turned its attention toward individual garden design and construction to compliment the highly regarded landscaping and maintenance arm of the business.
After Colin’s retirement in 1994, Colin Ridgewell & Sons expanded further to include the serene and relaxing world of pond, waterfall and water feature creation, which continues to form the backbone of the company today.
We are pleased to be associated with many of the local authorities, carrying out work for schools, Highways, County, District and Parish Council landscaping and maintenance schemes, as well as such prestigious building companies as Wickford Development Company where our show house gardens and general landscaping have contributed to their winning the NHBC highest awards for many years. Our policy of placing emphasis on superior workmanship, materials and attention to detail is confirmed by our association with reputable trade associations such as the Marshalls Register and the Guild of Mastercraftsmen.
